Here is an appealing photograph of a family of eight, from the studio of Ovinius Davis. This photo was blank on the back. It's a pity we don't know which family it is. Perhaps somebody will email me and tell me. Ovinius Davis had studios at: - 52 West Nile Street, Glasgow (1868-1910) - 16 Princes Street, Edinburgh (1881-1898) Not many cabinet prints were produced after the very early 1900s, so I would expect this photo to have been taken probably in the 1880s or 1890s. |
