Comely Bank Avenue

This view looks up Comely Bank Avenue from the southern end of Fettes Avenue, close to the south-west corner of Inverleith Park

The view looks south towards Dean Park Crescent -  the only crescent I know of that is straight  -   leading to Queensferry Street and the West End of Princes Street.

This view looks very similar today, except that the street is likely to be lined with parked cars and there are likely to be fewer pedestrians.

There are still shops on the right hand side of the street, at the junction with Comely Bank; but the symbol of the chemist's shop - the 'pestal and mortar' used for mixing and grinding drugs - no longer decorates the wall above the shop window.
