Here is an early postcard in the JM series, published by J
McCulloch of Edinburgh.
The card, sending Compliments of the Season was posted from
Edinburgh to Fife on 30 December 1903. The season being celebrated
(in Scotland) was New Year, rather than Christmas.
The card shows the view looking to the east along Hamilton Place from
the foot of Kerr Street at Stockbridge.
- The Water of Leith is over the railings on the left.
- The small low building is the old fire station. It is now
public conveniences.
- The larger building, right of centre is the library. It
is still a library.
