Postcard This postcard shows a Proclamation at the Mercat Cross in the Royal Mile (immediately to the east of St Giles Church. The postcard was posted in Edinburgh on 2 November 1906, but there is no mention on either the front or back of the card as to what was being proclaimed. |

Proclamation "There was a General Election in January 1906 which resulted in a landslide victory for the Liberal Party. I think this is probably a photograph of the proclamation for the summoning of the new Parliament that year. Kim Traynor, Tollcross, Edinburgh: July 10, 2011 |
