Union Canal This postcard is titled, 'Union Canal, Colinton Road'. It was published in the early 1900s and sent through the post on August 16, 1905. It is one of several postcards in my collection published by Percy Stubbs. All are views near his home at 44 Ashley Terrace Colinton Road runs on the south side of the Union Canal, close to the canal, at Meggetland - between Craiglockhart and Merchiston. The road bridge in this photo may be taking the road., North Meggetland, over the canal. A visit to the canal may be needed to see if the bridge still looks the same today. |
