The View The Royal Observatory on Blackford Hill is one of two observatories on Edinburgh hills. The other is on Calton Hill near the East End of Princes Street. |

The Postcard The reference number on this postcard indicates that the photograph was taken in 1935. However the style of postcard, with its serrated edge, is a style that Valentines used in the 1950s. So it seems likely that they used an old negative from stock as part of their 1950s series of photos of Blackford. There are no vehicles or people on this view to date it. |
