In the 1880s, Bonaly Road and
Bonaly Place were built to give access to Merchiston Railway
Station, the first station on the line heading SW from Princes Street
Station.
In 1965 the streets were
re-named Harrison Gardens and Harrison Place to avoid confusion with
streets of the same name at Bonaly Farm, Colinton, about 5 miles SW
of the centre of Edinburgh.
Here is a view, today, looking
east towards the centre of Edinburgh down the route of the former
Caledonian Railway from the former Merchiston Station.
