Horse Chestnut Tree  -  Brunswick Road

2009

This photo, taken in November 2009, shows the horse chestnut tree in Brunswick Road, opposite the Royal Mail depot (recently closed) that was built on the site of the old railway yard on the north side of Brunswick Road

1950s

The tree in this photo is the one that Kim Traynor remembers as 'the conker tree' from the time when Kim lived at East Thomas Street in the 1950s.

The Tenement Block

Kim Traynor replied:

West Montgomery Place

"The end of the tenement block behind the tree in this photo is the back of West Montgomery Place and you’ve photographed my grandparents’ house.

Yes., the chauffeur for Menzies ended up living here (at No.4) in the 1940s, just before I came on the scene in the 1950s"
