Cowgate

This view looks looks to the west down the Cowgate, towards Holyrood,  on a quiet December morning in 2005.

The two shops here have changed hands many times.  I have photos of them taken at intervals between 1990 and 2005, to be added to the web site, some day.

The buildings on the left-hand side of the photo are at the foot of West Bow at the eastern end of the Grassmarket.  The road leading straight ahead is Cowgate.  The red road sign in the middle of the road, just visible in the distance is at the foot of Candlemaker Row.
