Dalry Road  -  'Beer Movers'

The Sculpture

This life-size sculpture, titled 'Beer Movers' is a tribute to Edinburgh's brewing industry.  The city once had many large breweries, but now it has only one, Caledonian Brewery at Slateford.

This statue was erected in connection with the new housing built to the north of Dalry Road.  It stands on the paved area at the corner of Dalry Road and Easter Dalry Road.

The lettering on the end of one of the barrels reads:

"Beazer Homes

Cruden

  2000"

The Sculpture

I thought the man in the cap, using his mobile phone, fitted in well with the two figures in the sculpture, and I liked the limited range of tones, so I took this photo, then I manipulated it using Photoshop (dry brush filter) to create an effect more like a painting.

The result of the Photoshop treatment is more pronounced in this larger image.
