Kitesurfing at Cramond

Cramond

Kite surfing has recently become more popular around Fife and the Lothians.  Sites include St Andrews, Longniddry, and Gullane - and occasionally Cramond.

Sailing at Cramond is best with a NE wind, but the prevailing wind is SW.  When these photos were taken, there was a good steady strong wind from the NE.

The Photo

Here a kitesurfer is approaching at a good speed.

This view looks to the west along the coast of the Firth of Forth towards the submarine defence boom linking Cramond (out of the picture on the left) and Cramond Island, about a mile offshore (out of the picture on the right).  In the background is Dalmeny Estate, between Cramond and Queensferry.
