Cramond

Kite surfing has recently become more popular around Fife and the Lothians.  Sites include St Andrews, Longniddry, and Gullane - and occasionally Cramond.

Sailing at Cramond is best with a NE wind, but the prevailing wind is SW.  When these photos were taken, there was a good steady strong wind from the NE.

The Photo

This view looks to the NW from the promenade at Silverknowes, into the Firth of Forth.  Cramond Island, and the submarine defence boom linking it to the village of Cramond run across the centre of the picture.

The hills of Fife on the northern side of the Firth of Forth are in the background.
