The View

The postcard above is a view looking to the east along Drummond Street from close to the junction with Nelson Street.

This view shows the southern side of Drummond Place.  It faces onto gardens, just visible behind the railings at the extreme left of this picture.

The northern side of Drummond Place is on the other side of the gardens.

The Photographer

The postcard has not been sent through the post, but gives T P Lugton's address as 44 Raeburn Place.  T P Lugton appears in the Edinburgh Post Office Directories at several addresses between 1892 and 1917.  He was at 44 Raeburn Place from 1905 until 1910.

T P Lugton was a prominent member of Edinburgh Photographic Society, giving elementary lectures to the society in the 1890s.
