Andre Carnegie This bandstand was presented by Mrs Andrew Carnegie on her first visit to Dunfermline in 1887. Her husband was the Dunfermline-born businessman and philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie (1835-1911). He founded the Carnegie Steel Co which later became US Steel. He gave much of his money to fund the establishment of many libraries to Scotland, America and around the world. |
