Construction Thank you to Allan Dodds for allowing me to reproduce his photograph above of the Forth Road Bridge under construction. - In 1958, approval was given to build the bridge. - In 1960, the towers were being built. - In 1962, the cables were attached - In 1963, the girders for the road were being hung from the cables. So I assume that the photo above would have been taken around 1960-61. The bridge was officially opened by the Queen on September 4, 1964 |
