On the southern side of the Union Canal opposite the Scottish & Newcastle Brewery at Fountainbridge was a row of low garages.   These were used as car repair workshops until they were demolished in late summer 2004. 

This photo shows all that remained of the site in mid-October 2004.

Photo 2 above shows how this bank of the canal had been developed by 2011.  This photo was taken on 9 July 2011, the day of the Union Canal Raft Race.
