Thank you to John Dickson, Royston, Edinburgh for allowing me to reproduce this photo from his book,  a book titled 'The Print of His Shoe' by James Goodfellow, printed 1906.

These houses lay beside the Braid Burn, to the east of Craigmillar Park, between its junctions with Lady Road and Gilmerton Road.  The old water wheel can still be seen today.
