The Camp

This anti-capitalist protest in St Andrew Square Gardens in the centre of Edinburgh began on Saturday October 15, 2011.

This is one of many protests around the world by the anti-globalisation movement which has been occupying and camping on land in prominent places in order to draw attention to their opposition to international financial institutions.

I took this photo on the 5th day of the Edinburgh protest, October 20, 2011.  I asked one of the protestors how long he expected the site to be occupied.  He said there were no plans, but over the past couple of days, more people had been joining the protest.

The Message

This is one of the messages that was on display near the entrance to the Protestors' camp site in the middle of St Andrew Square Gardens.
