Gardens open to the Public
In earlier years, St Andrew
Square Gardens were owned by the banks, insurance companies and other
offices around St Andrew Square and were rarely used. But they were
recently passed to the City of Edinburgh on a fifty year lease.
The city has now redeveloped
the gardens, with new landscaping including a water feature, a shallow
pond (but not filled with water when this photo was taken on a fine summer
afternoon in July 2009. The gardens are now open to the public and
include a coffee stall and seating near the NE corner of the gardens.
