Gray's Buildings

These buildings belonging to ironmongers, Gray's of George Street were demolished around 1987, as part of the Tanfield development to create new offices for The Standard Life Assurance Company.

The eastern end of Glenogle Road, seen here approaching Brandon Terrace was realigned.  A curve to the right was added, beginning about where this photo was taken from, so that the road would join Brandon Terrace at a less acute angle.

A road was added to the left, from the curve, leading over a new bridge built across the Water of Leith and into the underground car park of the new Standard Life administration offices.
