General Post Office

The photograph above shows the removal of all the interior floors of the GPO in April 2003, in preparation for creating a new building within the old shell.

The steel framework retaining the outer walls can be seen in the background, with the clock tower of the Balmoral Hotel (formerly the North British Hotel) at the East End of Princes Street appearing above the walls of the GPO.
