Looking to the SE
This photo was taken on St Andrew's Day, November
30, 2010, as the weather took a turn for the better.
The streets in the foreground is Waverley Bridge,
passing over Edinburgh Waverley station.
A snow-covered Arthur's Seat, 823 ft high, in
Holyrood Park, is in the top-left corner of this photo. Further to
the right (to the west) are some of the tenements of Edinburgh Old Town.
The street leading up the hill through these
tenements is Cockburn Street, leading to the Tron Kirk at the junction of
North Bridge and the High Street. The steeple of the Tron Kirk can
be seen on the skyline (centre-left).
The crown of St Giles Church in the High Street
can be seen on the skyline at the right-hand side of this photo.
