Two single deckers

Here are two former Edinburgh Corporation and LRT single deckers.

The notice on the window of No 105 reads:

"One of ten Midibuses bought by Edinburgh Corporation.  They were used on new route 60 linking St Andrew Square with the Dumbiedykes housing estate at Holyrood.

Originally delivered with single rear wheels, they were particularly prone to sliding (in all directions!) particularly on wet cobbles.  Double rear wheels were soon fitted.

They had a relatively short life in Edinburgh, eventually being withdrawn by Lothian Region Transport in 1979/80.  However, most went on to see further service with private operators elsewhere in the UK.

105 was purchased from Peakbus, Chesterfield in February 1997 by the Lothian Bus Consortium."
