"Here is a photograph which may be of passing interest.

It is said to show the first motorised ambulance in Edinburgh.

I cannot say if this is correct,  but what I do know is that the nurse in the photo is a Miss Mary Barrie Scott, whose family were from the Brechin/Mearns area.  She did her training at Edinburgh City Hospital between 1906 and 1909, but at some stage moved to England.

I have just been given this photo by Miss Barrie's niece, a lady now 90 years old."
