"The lorries were carrying tanks that were coming from
Birmingham to British Leyland at Bathgate, now sadly gone.
I remember my dad telling me that as the
lorries came through the village of Forth in Lanarkshire, he heard a
pinging sound. On closer investigation, he found that they had
broken the overhead phone lines. I bet the GPO were pleased!"
