Edinburgh from the south

Here is an engraving of Edinburgh from the south in 1650 from a print by Rombout van den Hoyen.

This view from the Pentland Hills looks towards Edinburgh Castle and the Old Town of Edinburgh.  The hill near the centre of the picture is Calton Hill, with a road beyond winding its way to Leith beside the Firth of Forth.
