Victoria Street & Terrace

This engraving by D Small shows Victoria Street leading up the hill   from the Grassmarket towards the camera in George IV Bridge.  It is a gentler slope than West Bow which it replaced, but still fairly steep.

Victoria Terrace is the pavement that runs down the right-hand side of this picture one floor above street level,  seen more clearly in this view by Begbie, looking towards George IV Bridge.
