Sir Walter Scott's house in Castle Street |
Castle Street runs from Princes Street to Queen Street. Both 38 and 39 were close to the Queen Street end of Castle Street No.38: Edinburgh Photographic Society bought a property at 38 Castle Street, and created a library, meeting rooms and darkrooms there. This was the society's home from 1892 until 1925. No. 39: Across the road was 39 Castle Street, seen in the engraving above. This was the house where Sir Walter Scott lived there until 1826. |
