St Stephen's Church

This view looks from the south towards St Stephen's Church, built to a design by Playfair.  The design is ornate to facing the photographer, but was left very plain at the back in order to save money.

The church tower has a high staircase leading around its edge up to the clock.  The tower houses what I have been told is the longest pendulum in Europe.
