Buffalo Bill Show
"I should explain that for the first
decade or so of its existence Buffalo Bill's touring company was a
Wild West show, pure and simple, with Indians, cowboys and
Mexicans. But the format in which it made its second
visit to Scotland in 1904 was 'Buffalo Bill's Wild West & Congress
of Rough Riders of the World'.
'Cossacks' were first added during the
London season in the summer of 1892. However, they were not
Cossacks as billed, at all, but were from Georgia (that became
part of the former Soviet
Union).
This photo grabbed my attention because I
happened to notice the Edinburgh address, 16 Princes Street,
Edinburgh, on the bottom right corner of the photo."
