Photo
... At last!
"After all these years, I do believe in miracles. The 1945-50 class
picture above, sent by Charles Paterson is what I have been
looking for since my first e-mail to you.
(That was in March 2008. - Peter Stubbs.)
It shows me
in the back row 2nd from the right. I can't tell you how tickled I
was when I came across it recently. Please give my thanks to
Charles."
(I'll do that. - Peter Stubbs.)
My
Book
"As I mentioned in an earlier e-mail I've written a book called
'Balkymor, The Talipes Effect'. It is available on-line at
Friesenpress Publishing and/or Amazon.
The
book deals with my early years during the 2nd World War in Bo'ness and
Edinburgh and my time at Castlehill School while dealing with a 'club
foot', interacting with teachers Dr Low and Miss Moffat.
The book follows my life:
- moving from Royal Mile area to Broomhouse
- then to Stevenson Drive, and Carrickvale School
- going to work
- getting married
- moving to Canada
- getting involved in petrochemical industry
- spending 7 years in Saudi Arabia during Gulf War
- travelling the world
- and retiring in Sarnia Ontario where my kids
and grandkids were born and raised
Unfortunately my grand daughter, Kelly, was born with 2 club feet and it
was her fighting spirit that inspired me to write the book.
It would
be great, Peter, if you could get this story 'out there' in Scotland,
I'm sure there could be some interested former friends and school mates
who would enjoy the read."
