The Jokers and Acker Bilk

"My band, 'Jokers Rhythm & Blues' were on  the same bill as Acker Bilk at Haddington Corn Exchange in 1965.

We were:

-  Eddie Steadman, lead guitar

-  Charlie McDonald, rhythm

-  John Fleming, base

-  Derek Hodge, drums

-  Frank Ferri, vocals.

Edinburgh Clubs

"Clubs of the time were:

The Gamp Club and the Place Victoria Place & Street

The International, Princes Street

-  Casablanca, Rose Street Lane

-  McGoos, (Old Palace cinema) High Street

-  Luna Park, Tollcross

-  Gonk Club, High Riggs, West Port

-  Bungeys, Fleshmarket Close, off High Street

-  Top Story, Leith Street

Cephus Club, below church near Stafford Street, West End

-  Walkers, Shandwick Place

Green Light Club Holy Corner. near Churchhill

The Berkeley, Lothian Road

to name just a few."
