"I'm researching my father's time in the
army during WW2,
when he was in the Scots Fusiliers. I'm currently in touch with the
Fusiliers' museum and hope they will be able to give me some information.
In the meantime, here is a photo of the
Scots Fusiliers.

This photo was taken by photographers, A
Hutcheson & Son of Colintion. It came into my possession because my
father is in it. He was originally in the Essex Regiment
at the start of the war and was then transferred to the Scots Fusiliers.
I can only assume that the photo was taken in
Edinburgh as my father was stationed there at one time."

Hi Colin:
Thank you for your photo.
I was interested to see who the photographer was. Alexander
Hutcheson & Son were in business with a studio in Colinton from 1925 until
1958.
Colinton is a suburb in SW
Edinburgh beside the Water of Leith. There were two barracks in or
close to Colinton. They were Dreghorn Barracks and Redford Barracks.

"I know the 2nd Battalion Royal Scots
Fusiliers were stationed at Redford Barracks in 1939 as when my father
married my mother in 1939 that was his address on their Marriage
Certificate. My father had the rank of Lance Corporal.
I'm trying to find out if he is in this
photo."
