Final Year, 1946

Thank you to Frank Ferri for allowing me to reproduce this photograph of pupils at St Mary's, Star of the Sea School, Leith, and for sending me the list of pupils' names below.

Frank believes that the photo is probably of the Final Year Class.   Frank tells me that Constance Lannie, one of the girls in the photo, has confirmed that the photo was taken in 1946.

"This picture came to me from a class mate a couple of years ago."

St Mary's, Star of the Sea School, Leith - Final Year 1948

"As a wee aside, I'm meeting for lunch, on June 25, with three of my classmates from 1946.  Amazing, Eh?, considering we are all knocking on 75. They are:

Constance Lanni.  She is now Mrs Newman, who has lived in Kent for last 50 years.  We found each other on Friends Reunited four years ago and have met up every year since.

Mary Quinn.  She is now Mrs DeCarlo, widowed.  We caught up in Leith over the years.

John O'Donnell.  He is a member of my bowling club Pilrig.

 Tony Gallo.

Other class mates I keep in touch with are:

Norma Clarke.  I keep in touch by email.

Billy Blanche.  I see him occasionally.
