Craig & Rose

Forth Bridge Paint

Craig & Rose had the contract to produce paint for the Forth Bridge from the time that it was built in the 1880s up to the 1990s.  This was the machine that was used to produce the paint.

Craig also sold small tins of 'Forth Bridge Paint' to the public.

Today

Different methods are now being used to paint the Forth Bridge, and the paint is no longer being supplied by Craig & Rose.  The current painting program is due to be completed around 2009, then it is hoped that it will last for a futher 20 years without the need for a re-paint.

Here are some photos of the Forth Bridge being painted in 2005.
