St Andrew Square Gardens

The view above looks into St Andrew Square Gardens from the pavement on the eastern side of the square.  In the centre of the garden the base of the Melville Monument can be seen.

Beyond the gardens is George Street.  The spire on the right-hand side of the monument is of St Andrew & St George's Church.  The building in front of the spire is Standard Life Investments, 1 George Street.

The photograph was taken on 1 November 2003, just as the autumn tints were appearing in the leaves.

Here are other views of St Andrew Square Gardens, taken the same day.

These gardens are currently owned privately by the owners of the buildings around St Andrew Square.  However, consideration is being given to allowing public access to the gardens.
