Each year, over the Christmas and New Year
holiday period, an open-air ice rink is created in East Princes Street
Gardens.
The rink is situated beside a small funfair
in the gardens, in the valley between the Scott Monument in Princes Street
and the Head Office of the Bank of Scotland in Bank Street at the top of
the Mound.
Here is the rink in December 2002. It
is 40 metres long and can accommodate over 300 skaters. |
