'SOOT' Campaign The 'SOOT (Save Our Old Town) campaign began in 2003. It was established to fight the proposals to redevelop the site in and around the former bus garage in New Street. Under the developers' current plans, at March 2006, thee are proposals to demolish some of the tenements in Edinburgh's Royal Mile in order to allow a new hotel and new street to be created. The street party in the photographs below was held in order to seek further support for the 'SOOT' campaign. |
