The North Side of the Grassmarket |

Work has begun on the re-design of the Grassmarket. Some cobbles near the centre of the Grassmarket have been lifted. The base of the railings fencing off this section of the Grassmarket can be seen on the extreme right of this picture. I have not seen the final plans of what is to be put back. However the pubs, shops and cobbles along the northern side of the Grassmarket are still in place, as this photo shows. This photo looks to the east along the Grassmarket towards the foot of West Bow. The photo was taken soon after dusk on November 30, 2007. |
