Beside the Water of Leith

Snow

This photo was taken at 12.30pm on November 29, 2010, following the first heavy snowfall of the winter in Edinburgh.  It is unusual for Edinburgh to see so much snow at this time of year.

Water of Leith

Hawthornbank Lane is the small lane that leads straight ahead at the centre of this photo.  it is at the foot of Bell's Brae.

Hawthornbank Lane runs along the southern bank of the Water of Leith, immediately to the west of the Bridge over the Water of Leith at Dean Path.  The buildings on the extreme-right of this photo are on the northern bank of the Water of Leith.
