Following the amalgamation of Edinburgh and Leith in 1920, many of the street names in Leith were changed to avoid duplication of names. Thank you to John Dickson for sending me some of his photos of the original street names, still chiselled into the stonework of the buildings in Leith, including these two of Henderson Place at the 'Newhaven Road end' of Ferry Road. |
