Road Works This photo was taken from the upper deck of a No 26 bus as it progressed from Shandwick Place into Princes Street. It was all the 'no left turn' and 'no right turn' signs that caught my eye, as work began on laying a new gas main in Shandwick Place (out of picture on left). |

The corner of Hope Street and Princes Street Frasers department store (previously Binns, and before that, Maules) is on the corner of: - Hope Street (leading to the north 150 yards to Charlotte Square) and - Princes Street (leading to the east 3/4 mile to Waverley at the East End |
