Fur Coats
"Here is a photo of my grandmother and two aunts, taken around 1940 at
Lutton Place. It shows one of the family’s prized fox furs in fine
fettle for its regular weekly excursion to church.
They had
a reserved pew in St Georges in George Street.
When ‘dressing up’, my great grandmother had just two dress codes – a fur
coat or, in warmer weather, a dress coat with the obligatory fox fur draped
over the shoulder for the best effect." |
Trip to Blairgowrie
"Here
is another
photograph of Bryan's gran in her fur coat, this time she is with Bryan's
dad
on a trip from Edinburgh to Blairgowrie in about 1937.
