Thank you to John Stewart for sending me the photograph above. It gives a good impression of Princes Street in earlier days. This view looks towards the West End, possibly from somewhere around Frederick Street. John wrote: "This photo is of my grandfather, John Wilson Patterson who hailed from Kelso. The photo was taken in Princes Street in the 1920s. He is with my great Aunt Eva Simpson. She stayed in Union Street, Edinburgh."
