Jim O'Meara
Thank you to
Jim
O'Meara, one of many people who have contributed to the
Dumbiedykes
recollections pages on this web site, for providing this photograph of
himself with his Lambretta scooter.
This photo was taken in the
early-1960s in St Andrew Square, Edinburgh. The buildings in the
background are at the east end of George Street. They are:
LEFT: Caledonian Insurance's Head Office.
Following a takeover, this became Guardian Royal Exchange's
office.
RIGHT: Standard Life Assurance Company Head
Office, later to become the Head Office of Standard
Life Investments when SLAC moved its HO to Lothian Road. |
