Looking down from the Scott Monument

Waverley Bridge

Transport in 1936

This view looks down on Waverley Bridge and Waverley Station from the Scott Monument.  The entrance to Waverley Station is in the upper-left corner of the photo and the junction with Market Street and Cockburn Street is top-centre.

Perhaps somebody will comment on the locomotives, buses and cars in this photo.

In the thumbnail image below, taken from the Scott Monument in 2009, we see what appears to be an empty railway stations, with open-top tour buses on the bridge, and the Old Town of Edinburgh and Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park in the background.
