Concerts
Live8 Concerts, organised by Sir Bob Geldof's
Live Aid foundation, are to be held in Britain on 6 July 2005 at:
- Hyde Park, London
- Murrayfield, Edinburgh.
There
will also be concerts in France, Germany and Washington USA.

Campaign
These concerts are in support of Geldof's
anti-poverty campaign which is attempting to persuade world leaders to
cancel Third World debt.
They are timed to coincide with the Summit
Meeting of G8 leaders at Gleneagles, Scotland. |
Performers
The Edinburgh concert will follow a 'Long Walk to
Justice' anti-poverty march in Edinburgh.
It is being organised by Geldof and Midge Ure and
will be hosted by comedians Lenny Henry and Peter Kay. Performers at
the concert will include Travis, Snow Patrol and Texas.
Update
Film stars George Clooney, Tim Robbins and Susan
Sarandon, and pop stars Bono and Will Young will also be performing. |
Concerts
Tickets (two each) will be awarded to 42,000
winners chosen at random from those who have sent a text message to the
Live Aid hotline 84599 and correctly answered a simple question between 13
and 18 June 2005. |
