Great Gorilla Run

For the past three years a Great Gorilla Run has
been held in London. In the 2005 London run, there were around 1,000
runners and £250,000 was raised to help save endangered species.

Edinburgh
About 400 are expected to participate in the
Edinburgh Run on July 16, 2006. Each contestant pays £100 and is
given a gorilla suit to wear for the 7km run. There will be a prize
for the best-dressed gorilla.

Africa
The Great Gorilla Run is in memory of Dian Fossey
who went to Africa to live among and studied gorillas in 1967. She
was murdered in 1987.
