Moonwalks are fund-raising events for cancer
charities. These have been annual events in London since 1998, but
none has yet been held in Scotland.
The first in Scotland is to be the Edinburgh
Moonwalk starting from the Meadows on June 24, 2006. Entrants have a
choice of:
- a marathon walk, 26.2 miles.
- a half marathon power-walk.
The
Edinburgh Moonwalk has already, in January 2006, attracted 2,000
entries.
The
organisers hope that the Edinburgh Moonwalk will become an annual event.
