This exhibition features photos, drawings and scrapbooks from Cartier-Bresson's fifty year career.

Henri Cartier-Bresson

Henri Cartier-Bresson is without doubt one of the most celebrated photographers of all time.

This comprehensive retrospective, the largest ever staged in Britain, has been organised by the Cartier-Bresson Foundation in Paris and features more than 200 photographs. 

The Dean Gallery is the only UK venue for this world tour which is sure to be an unforgettable day out.

 

Photographic Competition

'A Day in the Life of Scotland’

20 August 2005

The National Galleries of Scotland and The Scottish Sun newspaper are organising a competition in association with the Henri Cartier-Bresson Exhibition.

Entrants are asked to capture a decisive moment in 'A Day in the Life of Scotland’.  Each entrant may submit one photograph, to be taken between 12.01am and 11.59pm on Saturday 20 August 2005.

Twenty winners will be chosen.  Their prints will be exhibited in the
Dean Gallery in September and October, during the Cartier-Bresson exhibition and will be published in the Scottish Sun in September. 

Each  will  receive a commemorative book featuring their work and one will receive  £600 worth of photographic equipment.
